Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Hospitality Resort Business Management Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of academic knowledge and real-world industry experience to inspire and educate the next generation of hospitality leaders. As a Hospitality Instructor at Canadian Tourism College, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students’ careers in the hospitality and tourism industry. You will have the opportunity to share your expertise, knowledge, and industry insights with the next generation of professionals. This position offers a dynamic and rewarding teaching experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in Hospitality Management courses (including, but not limited to, hotel operations, food & beverage management, event planning, and customer service).
  • Develop and update course materials, ensuring they reflect current trends and best practices in the industry.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and practical evaluations.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
  • Stay current with developments in the hospitality field and incorporate new insights into course content.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and college events.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on management roles (e.g., hotel management, food & beverage, event coordination, etc.).
  • A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in a post-secondary environment is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality operations, customer service standards, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring students, with a commitment to their academic and professional growth.
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching methods and use technology to enhance the learning experience.

 

Compensation

  • $20-$25 / hour
  • 20 hours per week
  • Part Time, may lead to Full Time Employment
